虾-ING

 13 April 2008

Muscle and strength were used up after moving all the props and production barang barang thingy around, for the whole afternoon.

Final Decision. Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) for dinner.

Intial plan was to Kallang Stadium outlet, cause of the free flow drinks. But, didn’t expect an overflow of crowds. Somehow remembering the Kallang Leisure Park had an outlet too, I 假厉害 thought it will be a better place, with more seats. Ended up, we have to race in Daytona, as to wait for a ger and 10 vacant seats, that is together.

The night is still young. Wee jio to go prawning at the Sin Ming place. There’s this gay guy (D) then suggest we can go to this best roti prata shop at Casuarina Rd, after the prawning session.

Not a production day, but we don’t mind staying out late for fun. LOL!
And how can I miss out FUN? I’m ON. So, was the rest.

After 3hrs passed… With everyone efforts, we have managed to catch enough to share among us, with at least 2 per pax. LOL!

It was almost 1am. Some start feeling tired and was staying at the east. Yet, D try to psycho us again that we MUST try this No. 1 BEST roti prata at Casuarina Rd.

You MUST eat this roti prata once in your lifetime. It’s the BEST! No. 1. Else, you will regret.
REALLY! REALLY~! I’m SERIOUS!

Disappointed! The place was closed for the day.

Ended, he brought us to this 2nd best Roti Prata House along Upper Thomson Rd. Have been there before several times, but I still find the shop at Jln Kayu taste better. Ok, will try the ’BEST’ as per his claim one day.

Another night out, on a non-production day. Really enjoy to be with you all.

MISS you ger and guys.

  • FFP Anniversary

     19 March 2008

Time flies as I am writing this.

    Woo LaLa~!! COOL!! FUN!!

Very soon, in exactly another 2 weeks (on 1st April), FooFangPu.com will be 1 years old. This is FooFangPu 1st Anniversary.

Why you chose to register on April Fool (aka All Fools’ Day)?

Yup, I did it on purpose. I told my registar that I need my domain to create on 1st April.

It’s just another stupid lame reason, just like the reason I LoVe LV.

Back in my school day, I remember that my surname (Foo) has alway been use as a joke among friends. They will add a L after it, and spells as FooL (with the almost similiar pronouncation.) Soon, I think is numb.

Cause with the same starting alphabet A - Alvin and April, I start to link April Fool (AF) with Alvin Foo (AF) and  labelled AF Day as my day myself. dotz!!

(… long story …) Then, after last year CNY, I have decided to have my own domain. At that time, I was thinking and looking for a suitable and sigificance date for register my domain.

06 Oct is still a long way ahead. 01 Apr is just nice, for me to prepare, ‘renovate’ and move. Also, is my AF day.

Why you use FooFangPu, instead of CoolFun or AlvinFoo as your domain?

Reason is simple. I want to have an international domain (.com), both CoolFun and AlvinFoo have been taken. Although, I tried to email the owner for permission to buy over. But they like to keep it.

In fact, I like my chinese name (符芳圃) Foo FangPu. I find it quite unique.

However, back to my school day again, my chinese name is used as a joke too. They will never pronounce it correctly. Either FangPuuu or FangPoo (sound like fart). Only those chinese teacher, or people with better chinese will pronounce my chinese name nicely.

Since then, I start to use my english name to intro myself.

Back last year, I start to know more chi-na friends. They can pronounce my chinese name nicely and find it quite unique too.

Hence, I decided to use my chinese name (符芳圃), and register it as my own domain name.

Actually, I prefer friends to address me with my chinese name (provided with correct pronouncation).

Meanwhile, I am super busy with my work, study, friends. And right now, I am working with a production house on a feature film. Stay tune for this week, more updates will be coming soon.

     14 February 2008

News from LA, Hollywood screenwriters has end their 3-month strike. (more) The strike has ended, will there be more Hollywood film coming up?

However, for now, we have enough movies to watch in this month, Feb. Earlier last week, on Chinese New Year festive season. There are already 3 new movies on screen.

    长江7号
The latest comedy from Stephen Chow, CJ7 is a fantasy tale featuring state of the art visual effects. A poor laborer father (Chow) and his young sons lives are turned upside down when a fascinating and strange new pet enters their world. Amid the resulting comic mayhem, they ultimately learn a poignant lesson about the true nature of family and the things money can’t buy.

    功夫灌篮
Shi-Jie (Jay Chou) is a brilliant martial artist from the Kungfu School. The master of the school adopted him as a baby, when he was found abandoned in the woods. His remarkable kungfu skills stem from his innate intuition and ability to read his opponents moves. One day, he encounters a group of youths playing basketball and shows off how easy it is for him, with his martial arts training, to do a Slam Dunk. Watching him was Chen-Li (Eric Tsang), a shrewd businessman, who decides that he would exploit Shi-Jie to make some money. Under the guise of helping Shi-Jie to find his family, he recruits him to play varsity basketball at the local university.

    老师嫁老大
Ah Long Pte Ltd is a light-hearted black comedy about the triad world and the money-lending business. The movie takes on a humorous and sarcastic treatment on the underworld. It depicts how a young lady, Li Hua (Fann Wong) tries to restructure her money-lending triad into a professional and ‘loving’ triad that stands against the use of violence after she takes over from her triad leader (Richard Low) who retired. Her various restructuring plans (which are no doubt very creative) bring about hilarious results.

Li Hua tired of her mother’s constant nagging to get married, she finally relented and proposed to Mr Fang (Mark Lee), an effeminate dance instructor cum image stylist. Surprised to many and even herself, Mr Fang accepted the proposal. The unusual union, despite the misfits, soon blossom into love.

None of it, I have watched yet. And on this Valentine’s Day, there are 3 more new movie coming on screen.

    Juno
Meet Juno MacGuff (Ellen Page) a confidently frank teenage girl who calls the shots with a nonchalant cool and an effortless attitude as she journeys through an emotional nine-month adventure into adulthood. Quick witted and distinctively unique, Juno walks Dancing Elk High’s halls to her own tune - preferably anything by The Stooges - but underneath her tough no nonsense exterior is just a teenage girl trying to figure it all out.

While most girls at Dancing Elk are updating their MySpace page or shopping at the mall, Juno is a whip-smart Minnesota teen living by her own rules. A typically boring afternoon becomes anything but when Juno decides to have sex with the charmingly unassuming Bleeker (Michael Cera). Faced with an unplanned pregnancy, she and best friend Leah (Olivia Thirlby) hatch a plan to find Junos unborn baby the perfect set of parents courtesy of the local Penny Saver. They set their sights on Mark and Vanessa Loring (Jason Bateman and Jennifer Garner), an affluent suburban couple who are longing to adopt their first child. Luckily, Juno has the support of her dad and stepmother (J.K. Simmons and Allison Janney). After the initial shock that their daughter has been sexually active with the unlikely virile Bleeker, the family bands together to help Juno. Dad Mac accompanies Juno to size up the prospective adoptive parents to make sure they are not a couple of wing nuts while stepmother Bren provides emotional support as Juno fights the prejudices of underage pregnancy. As Juno moves closer and closer to her due date, the veneer of Mark and Vanessas idyllic life starts to show signs of cracking. While fall becomes winter and winter turns to spring, Junos physical changes mirror her personal growth. With a fearless intellect far removed from the usual teen angst, Juno conquers her problems head-on, displaying a youthful exuberance both smart and unexpected.

    P.S. I Love You
Holly Kennedy (Hilary Swank) is beautiful, smart, and married to the love of her lifea passionate, funny and impetuous Irishman named Gerry (Gerard Butler). So when Gerrys life is taken by an illness, it takes the life out of Holly. The only one who can help her is the person who is no longer there. Nobody knows Holly better than Gerry. So its a good thing he planned ahead - by leaving her a list of tasks revealed in 10 monthly messages that are intended to ease her out of grief and transition her to a new life.

    Jumper
Doug Liman (MR. AND MRS. SMITH) directs this adaptation of Steven Gould’s novels about people called “jumpers” who can transport themselves through space and time.

(All intro synopsis and pictures are extracted from GV website.)

lol! I will watched it all. Anyone wanna watch it with me? Or if you are interested, can join me anytime. More will be coming on screen soon in this Feb.

Another nice simple way to celebrate Valentine’s Day - Movierathon.
